Welcome to Year 3! We have an exciting year ahead with lots of fantastic opportunities for the children to learn in a variety of ways.
3 King-Smith Teacher- Miss Thomassen
Miss Thomassen is excited to be starting her second year in Year 3. Miss Thomassen is an enthusiastic teacher with a love for learning. Her favourite subjects are maths and music and she cannot wait to start taking clubs this year.
3 Benjamin Teacher- Miss Jackson
Miss Jackson has joined us from many years teaching in South Africa and is really excited to meet everyone at The Palmer Academy. Miss Jackson is a talented teacher who is excited to travel the country and learn more about the UK.
Miss Hinds – LSA
Miss Hinds will be based in Year 3 King-Smith with Miss Thomassen, but will be working with children from both classes. Miss Hinds is an enthusiastic member of the team and loves to support small groups of children to grow in confidence.
Mrs. White- LSA
Mrs. White will be based in Year 3 Benjamin with Miss Jackson, but she will be working with children from both classes. Mrs. White is a greatly talented LSA with a particular interest in Reading.
Routines & Notices
King-Smith - Thursday afternoon
Benjamin – Wednesday morning
Children should bring their reading records to school every day. We would like to see parent/carer comments in the children’s reading records three times a week.
Projects will be set: Thursdays
Due in: Tuesdays
Pupils may be required to finish off uncompleted work from class. This will be set, along with a deadline, on a case by case basis.
Registration & Dismissal
It is expected that all children arrive between 8:40am – 8:50am and that they line up with their class when the bell goes at 8:50am.
Your child’s class will be dismissed at 3:15. Please allow plenty of space around the door and teacher when collecting your child.
If your child is being collected by another family member or friend please write a letter to your child’s teacher,
Pupils are not allowed to have mobile phones on their person during the school date. Phones should either be left at home or handed to the office at the start of the school day where they will be kept securely. It is the responsibility of your child to collect their phone at the end of the day.
