Assemblies at The Palmer Academy are designed to promote the spiritual, moral, social and cultural aspects of learning and development.
Themes range to address to varying needs of the pupils and the community in which we are situated. They promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs, these are addressed through the Rights Respecting Schools agenda. They also encourage pupils to use their enquiring mind to explore the touchstones of the REAch2 Academy learning, leadership, enjoyment, inclusion, inspiration, responsibility and integrity. Some assemblies celebrate school, country or world events or celebrations.
Friday assemblies celebrate the outstanding learning behaviours and successes of individual pupils either as a 'Star of the Week' or 'Caught in the Act' recognition.
