The Year 3s went on a school trip to Oxford Castle to learn more about their topic and the Heroes and Villains that lived in Oxford Castle and its prison. When we returned to school we wrote a recount about our time at the Castle. Here is a recount by Aaron Boateng.

‘’On Friday the 18th January 2019 I went to Oxford Castle. First we went on the coach and it was really big! The travel was 1 hour and a half. After we arrived we put our lunch boxes away. Then we went into a classroom and did a play. We got to dress up. I was a brave knight. The play was about King Henry, Princess Matilda, Stephen and William. After the play we climbed the mount. It was really steep. We then went to have our lunch. I sat next to my friends. Next we went up 101 stairs to the top of the castle. I was really scared but once I got up there I wasn’t scared. When we got down we went to the prisons. We went into a room where the prisoners stayed. We went into a rich person’s prison room. The person that stayed in that room was Mary Blondy. It was then home time. We were waiting for the coach but unfortunately the coach broke down. Then we called another coach. The driver said he will be 20 minutes but he took 1 hour. Finally he arrived and we went back home.‘’
