As part of our Art Week, and to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day landings, Year 4 created some artwork pieces based on remembering the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for us. We started with using shades of yellow watercolours to create a sand background, then we used shades of blue to create the sea. Next, we used charcoal and some soldier templates to create shadows of where the soldiers bodies might have been. We are really pleased with the results of some of the fantastic artwork the children produced, and it prompted some excellent discussions about remembering the sacrifices made and how life would have been different without them.
