Remembrance Day is a special day here at The Palmer Academy. We are proud that the children contribute their art work, poems and tributes to ensure that we will never forget the sacrifices made to ensure our liberty.
From Nursery to Year 6, each child embraced and understood the significance of the day. When asked if he would ring the bell, Suyog of Year 4 said, “It will be my honour!” This summed up each and every pupil who contributed to making Remembrance Day so special.
Mr Prendergast welcomed and gave the reason why we are marking today as a solemn and special day in the UK and Palmer Academy calendar.
The service started with a tribute, which was written and read by Brooke, and was then followed by the poem “Remember Me” which was written and read by Kyla.
The readers were:
Year 2 Lexi-Grace
Year 3 Jake & Isabella
Year 4 Deborah & Tyler
Year 5 Michael, Kyla & Isabella
Year 6 Obaid & Alina
