Highlights from Year 6

New Term, New Topic

Our topic in Year 6 this term is 'Frozen Fantasy'! In English, we have completed a very fun unit, where we were writing all about wolves! We had to use a range of features such as fronted adverbials, colons and relative clauses to create a non-chronological report about a mystic wolf from our imagination. 

In Art, we learned about how to sketch a real-life wolf by watching an expert artist. We had to carefully observe and change the way we used our pencil to create shade and light. We all got so engrossed in our learning and tried really hard to make the wolf as realistic as possible.  What do you think of our drawings? 

Now, we are learning all about the famous explorer Ernest Shackleton. He was clearly a brave, intelligent and intrepid adventurer. We will be writing diary entries from his point of view. Why don't you ask to hear one in a few weeks?
