Image of Highlights from Year 3

At the start of the Spring term, we studied the topic of 'Heroes and Villains'. We took a trip to the local fire station, where we learned about fire safety and how to become a fireman. We learned about their job role and had a chance to see what it was like to be a fireman. Our favourite part of the trip was seeing all the different tools that firemen use, as well as having the chance to shoot the fire hose.

We learned about several other heroes including Alan Turing, Dr Thomas Barnardo, Florence Nightingale and many other people that have had an impact on British History. We concluded our topic with a trip to the Warner Brother’s Studio, where we learned about the making of one of the most popular 'hero and villain' series – Harry Potter. Overall, it was a very interesting and eventful term and we now move on to studying 'Gods and Mortals' along with some Greek History.
