The year 5 teachers continue to be amazed by the children’s hard work and effort that they put into their schoolwork daily. It has been pleasing to see children work neatly, whilst challenging themselves to persevere through difficult tasks and activities. This week we are focusing on long multiplication in maths, which is often a particularly challenging method for many. However, many children have shown great resilience to this topic and have grown in confidence often tackling more challenging questions and creating their own to give to a partner. In English, we will be writing our non-chronological report about a made-up planet, which children have created – we look forward to reading all about these wild and creative planets with keen enthusiasm.
Our Art lessons have been a highlight this term with children being exposed to digital media. This week we have taken photographs using iPads and have explored ‘what makes a photograph’ and features we may see in a digital picture. The year 5 teachers definitely think there are some budding photographers as composition, layout and creativity was really showcased in their photographs.
With another exciting week ahead, we cannot wait to see what the children will produce and how they will strive to reach their full potential this term. Keep working hard!
