13 September 2021
We have been delighted to welcome all the children back to school the last two weeks, it is so lovely to see all the happy, smiling faces and the children have settled really well, showing they are keen to learn and show us what they can do. We have been really impressed and pleased with them so far, well done Year 3!
We have had a busy week and a half, settling into new routines and timetables as well as picking up new subjects. We have been looking at place value in Maths and reminding ourselves about Hundreds, Tens and Ones and how to read and write numbers up to three digits long (eg 324). In writing this week, we have been learning a short story about a boy called Alfie who has something in his pocket he isn’t allowed – please ask your children to tell you more if they haven’t already! We have also started reading our class text, The Twits. We will be reading this book for the whole of the Autumn Term so hopefully you will hear lots about these dirty, smelly creatures.
In our afternoon subjects, we have been starting all of our new topics, including Light in Science, Our European Neighbours in Geography and Getting to Know You in French, to name but a few. We will also be having PE lessons on Tuesdays and Fridays, so please remember to come in PE kit in those days.
We look forward to speaking to some of you and answering any questions at our Meet the Teacher Zoom Meeting on Friday 17th September at 4:00 – 4:30pm.
