We have had another exciting and fun filled week in Reception this week, especially as we are starting to get ready for Christmas! For our writing assessment we watched the John Lewis christmas advert ‘The Bear and The Hare’ and used the phonics and writing skills we have learnt this term to write a sentence about the advert, it has been lovely to see the progress the children have made so far!
In topic we have been learning about places of worship that are important to different religions. It has been great to share our experiences of lots of different religions and cultures and see what the children remember about the religious celebrations we have learnt about previously. In maths we have been learning to use the vocabulary ‘one more’ and ‘one less’. The children have been practising all week using different ways to represent one more and one less including five frames, activity mats and even lego bricks! We are very excited to start preparing for Christmas, which will involve lots of singing, art and crafts!
