Year 1 have come back to school with heaps of enthusiasm and have had a great first week back! We are so exited to start our new topics – particularly our new history topic about the explorers Ibn Battuta and Neil Armstrong!
We have started to learn a new narrative ‘The Ugly Duckling’ in our English lessons, which is a little longer than our previous texts but we are having a good go at learning the story and accompanying actions. We have really loved maths this week; we have been measuring all sorts of different objects around our classroom using cubes. Next week we’re excited for the new challenge of using our rulers to measure.
Thank you to our parents for supporting world book day by sending your children in dressed up as their favourite book characters. They all had a wonderful, special day!
Please remember to keep reading with your child every day and recording this on their online reading record (Go Read), in addition to logging them on to do their My Maths and Spelling Shed homework each week. Thank you so much for your support.
