Year 1 Highlights

Year 1 have settled back into school fantastically! We are so proud of how they have picked up the routines of Year 1 so quickly and got straight into some great work!

Over the past couple of weeks in English we have been writing about Little Red Riding Hood. The children have done 2 amazing pieces of writing, including their own version of Little Red Riding Hood where they independently chose their own character to replace the wolf in the story. In Maths we have started with some basic counting and recording of numbers to 20. This includes some counting forwards and backwards. We are now going to continue onto comparing two amounts using less than, greater than and equal to. As well as this, in Science we have been observing our shadows. We made puppets to cast shadows of different characters. We also went outside and had a go at drawing round our partners shadows with chalk. Keep up the good work Year 1
