Year 5 Highlights

Over the last few weeks, Year 5 have been working extremely hard. All the children have settled into the new year extremely well and are demonstrating great maturity. In Maths, we have been focusing on the place value of numbers up to 1,000,000. Here are some pictures of us using Gattegno and place value charts to support us in our work. In Science, we have been learning all about the properties of materials. This week, we completed an experiment to see which material was the best conductor. We all had great fun and used our prior knowledge from Year 4 to help us accurately create a working circuit. Lastly, the teachers would like to thank everyone that turned up the parent teacher meeting on Wednesday. It was lovely to see so many faces and to meet so many of you.
