The New Year in Nursery has started with one of our very favourite stories..

Such a great traditional tale that excites and stimulates little minds with plenty of problem solving and imaginative thinking. The children enjoy listening to this story over and over again!

We have had a visit from a professional story teller who told the story from an explorers point of view. The children dressed up as explorers and by the end of the session, using a map, they had found the Gingerbread Man. It was great fun and the children enjoyed squelching through ‘the mud’ and swishing through ‘the grass’ – Super!

We have baked gingerbread men too and we heard they were delicious. Some parents have already used the recipe we sent home to make them with their children – great! One of the boys in Nursery was literally jumping up and down with excitement as he was making them – watch out Jamie Oliver, Palmer has a brilliant chef in the making!

We would just like to thank our parents for taking time to come into Nursery and talk about their cultures.

Children are naturally curious about each others lives and it was great to see them listening well to our parents throughout these visits.

So as well as more traditional tales this term, we will continue to enjoy ryhmes, music and learn more about the wonders of this world and each other.

Best wishes from the Nursery Team
