Year 6 have spent this week looking at division by 2-digits and have moved on to looking at factors, multiples and primes. We continue to impress our teachers with some of the presentation in our books. We have also been celebrating Black History Month and enjoyed listening to some songs by Bob Marley as we wrote letters to and fact files about Olaudah Equiano. Both of which are pictured on the Black History Mural in central Reading. We enjoyed finding out about his story and celebrated his successes. We took such pride in our work just as he did in paving the way for the abolition of enslavement.
Year 6 Horowitz have also been looking at photography this half term and had great fun in a photo shoot where we put our knowledge to the test to take portraits of our peers. We considered lighting and the rule of thirds alongside props, perspective and background. We look forward to appraising each other’s photos next week and to inviting our parents in to see our work after half term. Here is a sneaky peek of a few photos:
