Year 5 Highlights

Year 5 have made such a great start to the term and have already demonstrated such focus in their learning. Miss Billins is so excited to finally be teaching Hughes full time and thoroughly enjoyed meeting with parents this week during parents evening. Thank you to all who attended. In music this half term, year 5 have been focusing on Jazz music. This is a great way to explore a wide range of musical skills such as improvisation. Last week, they began learning a piece of music and used the glockenspiels to accurately play and perform that piece. This week, we focused on improvisation and continued to explore tempo and pitch. We really enjoyed having the ability to create our own patterns and rhythms during this process and look forward to adding these improvised pieces to our performance.
